Code-Killa (operated by the Code-Killa team) respects your privacy. This page explains exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, how we secure it, and the rights you have over it. Written in plain English — no legalese games.
1. Who We Are
This Privacy Policy applies to the website https://codekilla.com (and its preview environments) and any associated services we operate (collectively, "the Platform").

2. Data We Collect
- ▸Account data: name, email, and a bcrypt-hashed password when you sign up.
- ▸Profile data: optional avatar image (stored as a base64 data-URL).
- ▸Course activity: which lessons you opened, completed, or rated up/down.
- ▸Payment data: Stripe / Razorpay transaction IDs and status. We never see or store your card number, CVV, or UPI PIN.
- ▸Communications: any message you send via the contact form.
- ▸Technical data: IP address (used only to derive country/city for analytics), browser, device type, and pages visited.
3. How We Use Your Data
- ▸Provide the service — auth, lesson access, progress tracking, certificates.
- ▸Process subscription payments and issue refunds where applicable.
- ▸Reply to support enquiries you initiate.
- ▸Improve the platform via aggregated, anonymous analytics.
- ▸Send transactional email (account verification, password reset, payment receipts).
- ▸Send marketing email — only if you explicitly opt in. You can unsubscribe in one click.
5. Data Sharing
- ▸We share payment data only with our processors (Stripe / Razorpay) for the strict purpose of processing your transaction.

6. Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as the account is active. Inactive accounts are anonymised after 24 months. Payment receipts are retained for 7 years to comply with Indian tax law.
7. Security
- ▸Passwords are stored using bcrypt with per-user salt — never as plain text.
- ▸All traffic is encrypted in transit via TLS 1.2+ (HTTPS).
- ▸Database access is restricted to the application service account; backups are encrypted at rest.

8. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, export, or permanently delete your personal data. Email codekillaindia@gmail.com with the subject line "Privacy Request" and we will respond within 72 hours. There is no charge for the first request in any 12-month period.
If you are an EU/UK resident, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (e.g., the ICO in the UK).
9. Children
Code-Killa is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we will delete the account.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be announced via on-site banner and email at least 14 days before they take effect.
